The flag of Adjara are seven dark blue and white horizontal stripes with the national flag of Georgia shown in canton. It was adopted on 20 July 2004 by the Supreme Council of Adjara.

The dark blue stripes symbolize the Black Sea and the white stripes symbolize purity.
Former flag[]
A flag with seven yellow stars on a blue field was used during June 2000 till July 2004. The blue background represents the Black Sea, while the seven stars represent Adjara's two cities (Batumi and Kobuleti) and five districts (Batumi, Kobuleti, Keda, Shuakhevi and Khulo). It bears a similar resemblance with the flag for the political party of the Democratic Union for Revival.[1]
