The flag of Amazonas, Brazil, consists of three equal horizontal stripes alternating white and red, with a blue canton the width of the top stripe containing one five-pointed star in the center of the flag with 12 smaller white five-pointed stars equally forming a square around it, and six other small stars of the same size forming brackets around the square.
Symbolism[]
The five-pointed stars are taken from the flag of Brazil. The twenty-five stars represent 25 municipalities. The large star in the center of the canton represents the capital of Amazonas, Manaus.
The white symbolizes hope and the red represents difficulties overcome.[2]
