The flag of Annapolis, Maryland, is a white background with the queen's badge on the top, and a heraldic scroll with the words "VIXI LIBER ET MORIAR" inside on the bottom.
Symbolism[]
The thistle represents Scotland, and the rose, a united England. The motto was chosen by the flag’s designer as “one that might be acceptable”, and it read "VIXI LIBER ET MORIAR" meaning "I HAVE LIVED FREE AND I WILL DIE SO".[1]
2004 NAVA survey[]
The flag scored 5.39 / 28th out of 150 on the 2004 NAVA survey, behind Minneapolis, and ahead of Anchorage.
