The flag of the Aosta Valley, or the Val d'Aosta, is one of the official symbols of the region of Aosta Valley, Italy. The current flag was adopted on 16th March 2006. It is a vertical bicolor of black and red.
The flag was in unofficial use since 1947, and was then adopted as official with the Regional Law of 2006. The origin of the colours of the flag itself come from the colours of the 16th-century coat of arms of the Duchy of Aosta, a silver lion on a black shield with a red tongue, and a two-colour flag.
