The flag of Boca Raton, Florida, is a horizontal tricolor of light blue, white, and green, with a vertical white band on the hoist bearing the city's seal in the center. The flag was designed by George Ryan for a flag contest in 1965.
Symbolism[]
The green represents South Florida's lush vegetation, blue represents the sunny skies, and white is used simply because "it's pretty". The seal features a Spanish galleon, a reminder of Boca Raton's past, with a row of stylized rocks at the harbor.[1]
Flag redesign[]
On March 31, 2025, the city announced feedback for flag redesigns after an initiative brought forward by City Council.[2] 7 options were selected by NAVA for feedback, which was shared until April 16. The City Council would select the final design, which was expected to be unveiled as part of the city's centennial celebration.[3] However, the idea of a new flag was later abandoned.[4]
Below are the seven designs that were proposed.
