The flag of Bohemia is identical to the flag of Poland, but does not have the same meaning. It forms part of the Czech flag.
Symbolism[]
The Bohemian flag is identical to the Polish flag, but those two flags are in no way related. The flag is actually based off of the colors that the former monarchs of Bohemia wore. These colors came from the coat of arms of Bohemia. The arms featured a red background with a silver lion in the rampant position. In heraldry, white and silver were known as silver. So the white on the Bohemian flag refers to the coat of arms.
Use[]
This flag was used as the provincial flag of the Czech Republic in Czechoslovakia. This was not adopted as the Czech flag because of its neighbor Poland and the confusion it would create.
