The flag of Botswana consists of a light blue background, with three horizontal stripe in the center of the flag (top to bottom: white, black, white). The white stripes are thinner than the black one.
The black and white stripes represent racial cooperation and equality, the light blue background represent the sky and water, which is a scarce and precious resource in the Kalahari Desert, which covers much of Botswana.
