The flag of Brandenburg, a federal land of Germany, is a horizontal bicolour of red over white, defaced the coat of arms in the centre.

According to the German heraldic tradition, the colors of the flag reflect the colors of the coat of arms.
History[]
The current flag was adopted in 1991. In 1993 the coat of arms was slightly modified, and the flag had to be modified as well.
