Buenos Aires Province

The flag of the Argentine province of Buenos Aires has a horizontal red line that divides the total area into two halves of equal size. The top is blue, while the lower is green. In the middle of the flag the red line is interrupted by the outline of half of a blue gear on the field of green cloth. At the center of the space created by the gear is placed a figure which is yellow in the upper half, above the red line, a rising sun and a sunflower on the bottom. The sunflower has a turn in the middle of a semi-red. The sun is surrounded by a semicircle of bay to play both ends of the red line, forming a circle with the sprocket.

Symbolism[]

The green color represents the strength of the fields and plains of the province, which historically developed agriculture and animal husbandry. The blue represents the rivers of the Province, the sea that bathes its coasts and the sky that covers it. The red line and red represents the Argentine federalism. The yellow symbolizes the fertility of the production.

Refers to the sun shining and the bay to the Glory of the Province of Buenos Aires. The gearwheel is an allegory of the industrial production, while the average flower is the sunflower production. The red line also suggest the spirit of federal, marks the infinite horizon that divides the land and sky in the large provincial area.
