The Estelada (meaning 'starred flag' or 'lone star flag', from estel, "star") refers to an unofficial flag typically flown by Catalan independence supporters to express their support for either an independent Catalonia or independent Països Catalans (Catalan Lands, the territories in which Catalan is traditionally spoken). The design of the Estelada comprises of the nine alternating red-and-yellow bars of the Senyera, with the addition of a blue or yellow triangle with a white or red five-pointed star at the hoist.

Red and yellow are the main colors of the flags of Catalonia and Spain. The flag was inspired by the flag of Cuba.
