Cayman Islands (1958-1999)

The former flag of the Cayman Islands was similar to the current flag, but with a white disc containing the coat of arms inside. It was adopted on 14 May 1958.

A separatist flag for the Cayman Islands has four alternating white and blue waves, with three green five-pointed stars in a V shape.

Civil ensign[]

The civil ensign of the Cayman Islands is a red ensign with the Caymanian coat of arms in the fly.[1]

Governor's flag[]

The flag of the Governor is the Union Jack defaced with the Cayman Islands coat of arms on a white disc (in the centre). The disc is surrounded by a wreath.

Trivia[]

  • During the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, and during the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics, the Cayman Islands team marched in under the flag as described on the government website.
