The flag of Clarksville, Indiana is a white background with a red St. George's Cross on top of navy blue waves. Additionally, running down the center is a gold sword. It was designed by Richard M. Crossett and adopted in 1968.

Symbolism[]

The navy blue color and the waves represent the Ohio River. The red St. George's Cross is a connection to the coat of arms of colonial Virginia, representing the grant of the site of Clarksville to George Rogers Clark by Virginia for his services in the Revolutionary War. The gold sword was another gift to George Rogers Clark for his military service.
