The flag of Colfax, Iowa Iowa, is a white slope dividing two shades of blue, with a grey osprey holding a fish in the center.

Symbolism[]

The white slope is symbolic of Colfax being a city on a hill, and both a distinctive feature of the city and flag, the two shades of blue represent the city's historic connection to mineral water and new connection to the lakes found at the newly annexed Quarry Springs Park. The Osprey is, according to the city website, found in greater numbers than anywhere else in Iowa, and it is in the color Anthracite, which represents its' history with coal mining.[1]
