The flag of Exmoor, owned by Somerset and
Devon, is a blue background with four wavy, horizontal lines and in descending order, the colour of these stripes are white, purple, white, and green. Above the wavy lines and next to the hoist is a white stag's head with a white five-pointed star directly above it.
Symbolism[]
The wavy, horizontal lines of green, white and purple symbolise Exmoor as a place where the sea hits and meets the cliffs, moorlands and forests. The stag's head represents Exmoor's iconic wildlife such as deer, boar and horse while the star above the head evokes Exmoor's status as Europe's first Dark Sky Reserve.
