  • This article is about the flag of the Republic of Georgia. For the flag of the U.S. state of Georgia, go here.

The flag of Georgia, the Caucasus, is white with a red cross. In the center of each of the white cantons is a stylized red cross.

Symbolism[]

The flag is based on St George's Cross, like that of England, but with four smaller crosses on each corner. It was originally a medieval banner for the Kingdom of Georgia and was a symbol of The Rose Revolution of 2003, which led the country to a more pro-western pro-European direction.
