The flag of Germany is a horizontal equal tricolour of black, red, and gold.
Symbolism[]
The colors of the flag are the colors used by Prussia in the Napoleonic Wars in 1806. This was adopted in 1813.[5]
The flag's colors are borrowed from the German coat of arms.
Other interpretations attribute the colors with the following meanings: Black symbolizes determination, Red represents hardiness, valor, strength, and bravery, while Yellow signifies generosity.[5]
