The flag of Germany is a horizontal equal tricolour of black, red, and gold.
Symbolism
The colours of the flag are the colours used by Prussia in the Napoleonic Wars in 1806. This was adopted in 1813. [4]
History
Because of Germany's long history as many different countries and nations, the land of Germany has had many different flags flown over it.
