The former flag is a white background with the town's logo and name in gold in the center. The town logo comprises of green shapes that form a swirl. On the bottom of the state's name is a black line. It was adopted in an unknown date and relinquished in 2017.
Symbolism[]
The iconic swirl represents the "G" in Gilbert and includes four swirls and one circle. The circle represents the community as a whole. Each of the four swirls represent Gaining Recognition, Raising its' Future, Owning its' past, and Working Together. These four things help our community grow and make Gilbert, Arizona a great place to live, work and play.
