The flag of Greensboro, North Carolina, is the city's logo in the center of a green background.
Former flag (1965-2016)[]

The former flag of Greensboro, North Carolina, was a man on a horse on top of an oak leaf wreath, with "CITY OF GREENSBORO" and "NORTH CAROLINA" in yellow, on the top and bottom. It was adopted on April 5, 1965, designed by Charles Hodgin, and had proportions of 2:3.
Symbolism[]
The man riding the horse is Major General Nathanael Greene, for whom the city was named. It is said that when he led his troops into the Battle of Guilford Court House (a decisive battle on March 15, 1781, that took place in what is today northwest Greensboro), the flag at the head of his troops was green. The oak leaf wreath symbolizes sturdiness and durability. The date, 1808, is the year of the city’s incorporation.
2004 NAVA survey[]
The flag scored 3.48 on the 2004 NAVA City Flag Survey, behind Augusta, and ahead of Salt Lake City.
