|Flag of Iceland|
|Adopted||June 19, 1915 |
|Designed by||Matthias Thordarson |
The flag of Iceland is a Scandinavian cross design with a blue background and a white cross with a red cross inside it.
The flag was based off of the flag of Denmark, which was the only national flag at the time. The Scandinavian cross design represents Iceland's Scandinavian culture.
The flag's design is based on the flag of Norway, but with reversed colors.
