The flag of the American state of Idaho is blue with the state seal of Idaho, stylized, in the center of the flag, with a stylized red banner (with a yellow outline) below it, with the words "STATE OF IDAHO" in yellow letters.
Symbolism[]
"STATE OF IDAHO" and the state seal both represent the state of Idaho, obviously. The symbolism of the blue background is currently unknown.
History[]
Idaho had been an American state since July 3, 1890. [4] In 1898, the First Idaho Volunteer Infantry was presented with a blue flag displaying the Great Seal of Idaho. After the Spanish-American War, their battle flag was modified for a state flag design in 1904. This design has since been updated.[5]
