The flag of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is a vertical equal tricolour of black, red, and green. A white stylized version of the national coat of arms is placed in the center of the flag. It is the de jure government of Afghanistan.
Symbolism[]
The coat of arms of the former flag of Afghanistan are in the centre, which shows part of a mosque, pieces of wheat, two banners, the date 1371, and the Muslim inscription. [1] The green stands for Islam, the red stands for the blood of those who fought for the country's freedom, and the black stands for the past.
