The flag of the Islamic State (IS), a radical Jihadist organisation and former unrecognized quasi-state.
Due to its relation to Islamic terrorism, in many countries, including Germany and the Netherlands, the flag is banned and displaying or flying the flag is a criminal offence.
Symbolism[]
The white symbol at the bottom of the flag depicts the second phrase of the shahada but in a way that is depicts the supposedly historical seal of Muhammad.
