The flag of Julian, California, is a purple background with five black mountains overlapping, with three stripes of yellow and purple forming between two of the mountains. On the top of the small black mountain, is a yellow sun and a star.

Gold represents the sun, moon, deserts, golden meadows and gold ore; black stands for the silhouette of the mountains and forests; and purple is for the skies at dusk and dawn, reflecting over the lakes and creeks of the Julian area.
