The flag of Kentucky is blue with the state seal in the center of the flag. Above the seal in a semicircling path, are the words "COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY". In another semicircle, below the seal, are two stylized goldenrod sprigs.
Symbolism[]
The seal in the middle depicts two men shaking hands. One of them is Daniel Boone, and represents frontiersmen who explored the state. And the other is Henry Clay, and represents the statesmen of Kentucky.
The words "United We Stand, Divided we Fall", comes from "The Liberty Song", a popular tune during the American Revolution.
