The flag of Las Vegas, Nevada, is a blue field with a gray diagonal stripe and the city seal in the canton. The city's seal is composed of a blue ring with a grey outline and the words "CITY OF LAS VEGAS" and "NEVADA", with a depiction of some buildings next to a dam and the desert, with a stylized sun, a Joshua Tree, and an airplane passing by.

Symbolism[]

The blue symbolizes the skies of Nevada. The gray stripe alludes to Nevada's nickname as "The Silver State". The buildings and marquees symbolize tourism, as it is a major industry for the city. The small portion of the brown cliff symbolizes the mountainous terrain. The Joshua tree symbolizes the desert landscape of the area.
