The flag of Madagascar consists of three stripes, each of them one unit by two, one (white) on the hoist and the other two (red on top, green on bottom) in the fly.
Symbolism[]
The red and white were the colors of the last Marina monarch before French rule, and the green symbolizes peasants, who played a big part in Madagascar's fight for independence.[3]
