The flag of the disputed city of Mariupol is officially a plain indigo background with the Ukrainian controlled city's coat of arms surrounded by a wreath placed in the center of the flag, and a red, yellow, and indigo, checkered border.

The flag of Mariupol under Russian occupation in the
Donetsk People's Republic is a defaced horizontal bicolor of white and blue, with an anchor in the center with inverted colors. The flag is based off of the coat of arms. The flag was adopted on January 31, 2025, and has proportions of 2:3. It is used as the de facto flag of the city.
Symbolism[]
The white-and-blue color scheme symbolizes Mariupol’s coastal location along the Sea of Azov and its historical roots, having been founded by Greek settlers in the late 18th century. The silver (white) hue also represents the city's metallurgical industry, while the anchor signifies its importance as a major port.
