The flag of Montague, Prince Edward Island, is a green background with a thick wavy blue stripe running vertically. On the center is a golden arch bridge, a white fish, and two ploughs, with a border made of green and white shapes on the top, bottom, and fly.

Symbolism[]

The patterns on the top, bottom, and fly are the same ones used on the Prince Edward Island and Charlottetown flags. The blue stripe on the top is the Montague River which splits the city in half, and it splits into three sections, for the three separate rivers that flow into Cardigan Bay. The bridge on the flag is the one that ties Montague together, its' gold color symbolizes the trade and commerce that crosses over the top, and its' shape forms an "M" for the city's namesake. The two ploughs represent agriculture on both sides on the river, and how they are important to the town, and the fish tells us that it was important to the town's early economy, as well as today for recreation.[1]
