In the center of the emblem is the silhouette of the pehuén, a typical Neuquén species. At its feet there is a federal star, which refers to the federal spirit of the province, the Lanín volcano, in a symmetrically perfect way, and which indicates with the vertex of its summit the blue of the sky, and wants to express the vocation of greatness of the Province.

The laurels signify glory, freedom and peace and the stars that complete the circle speak of the union of the Neuquinos in the sixteen departments that make up the province.
