The flag of Nijkerk consists of a blue background and to the top left corner and nearly reaching the bottom of the flag are three evenly split squares. The top square has a white background and 6 fleur-de-lis arranged in a triangular formation. In the second square is a gold, centred cross placed upon a red coloured background. On the final and bottom square are 3 red I shaped symbol on a white background. To the left of that, is a lion standing on 2 legs wielding a sword and wearing a crown.

The flag is derived from the Nijkerk coat of arms which became official on 22 November 2000.

History[]

Second Former Flag (1964 - 2000)[]

This old flag adopted on the 28 February 1964 consists of a plain blue background and a yellow lion holding a sword and wearing a crown, standing on 2 feet.

First Former Flags[]

The first flag - the one with the diagonal lines - is not official, but is used by the citizens. The municipal council (the one with the horizontal lines) uses a flag with two equally wide horizontal stripes yellow and blue. These colors are derived from the municipal Coat of Arms.
