The flag of Norway is red with an outlined Scandinavian cross (blue in the center, with a white border).
Symbolism[]
The cross represents Christianity, red and white are from the flag of Denmark, and blue is from the flag of Sweden.[2] The tricolors denote Norway's independence.
Symbols of the different colors[]
The colors of the Norway Flag are in a Norwegian song often sung on the national day 17th of May, referred to as symbols of Norway.
- The red color is told to be referring to the red/orange color of a dawn and/or dusk.
- The White color is referring the snow that makes up most of the country's colors during the Winter.
- The blue color theres a bit uncertainty about exactly what refers to, but its either the blue heaven or the blue sea, it's not 100% sure what exactly it is.
