The flag of the Organization of Turkic States, formerly known as the Turkic Council, is a light blue background with a sun with forty uniformly spaced rays with a light blue eight-pointed star and a crescent in the middle. The first flag was adopted at its 2nd Summit, which took place in Bishkek on August 23, 2012, and officially raised on October 12, 2012. It was changed on November 6, 2024 at its 11th Summit to replace the sun with the one on Kyrgyzstan's new flag, with the addition of an eight-pointed Seljuk star surrounding the sun.
Symbolism[]
The flag combines the symbols of the original four members: the light blue color from the flag of Kazakhstan, the sun from the flag of Kyrgyzstan, the star from the flag of Azerbaijan, the crescent from the flag of Turkey, along with an eight-pointed Seljuk star.
Former flag[]
The former flag of the Organization of Turkic States, formerly known as the Turkic Council, was a light blue background with the sun taken from the 1992-2023 flag of Kyrgyzstan with a light blue eight-pointed star and a crescent in the middle.
