The flag of Palau consists of a sky blue background with a yellow circle slightly to the left of the center of the flag. It was adopted on January 1, 1981 (New Year's Day).
Symbolism[]
The yellow, off centred circle represents the moon and the symbolism behind the light blue background represents the islands' placement in the Pacific Ocean.
