The flag of Peleliu, 
Palau, is blue with a yellow bird surmounted by five yellow stars and placed above a red scroll with the black writing "STATE OF PELELIU".
Symbolism[]
Blue represents the ocean and the heavy sky above. Yellow represents gold. Red represents the Tatirou color and the blood of the people of Peleliu.
The bird is the "belochel" that laid golden eggs (Palauan money) in the village of Ngeriab. The five stars represent the five hamlets forming Peleliu, that is, Ngerdelolk, Ngesias, Ngerchol, Ngerkeiukl and Teliu. The "belochel" is the Micronesian Imperial pigeon, Ducula oceanica.
