The flag of Plano, Texas, is a white background with the city's logo, and the words "Plano" in blue in the top, and "City of Excellence" italicized in red on the bottom.
Former flag[]
The former flag of Plano was a white background with which was once the city's logo, and the city's name in blue lowercase, italicized text. It was adopted on August 25, 1980, and had proportions of 7:10.
Symbolism[]
The star, as well as the red, white, and blue colors, perhaps recalls the Lone Star State of Texas. The large P seems to say "Plano" with a large capital "P", reflecting the pride of its citizens.
2004 NAVA survey[]
The flag scored 4.88 on the 2004 NAVA City Flag Survey, tied with Newark, and ahead of Carson City.
