The former flag of Provo, Utah, is a white background with the word "Provo" in black with a shadow and a line in rainbow form. The flag was adopted on April 25, 1989.

The flag ranked 143rd on the 2004 NAVA City Flag Survey, with a score of 2.14 out of 10, behind Cedar Rapids, and ahead of Lubbock.

First flag (1976-1989)[]

The first flag of Provo are two fields of red and blue, separated by a white shape representing a "P", and the year of 1849, which was the city's foundation date, in the same text and color as the P. The flag was adopted on April 7, 1976, and designed by students of the Utah Lake Lions Club, as part of a contest to get Provo into the National Bicentennial.
