The flag of Queen's University Belfast, is a red saltire dividing the colors, blue and white. On the top is an open book, on the hoist - a red hand, on the fly - a green seahorse, on the bottom - a harp, and in the center - a crown.

Symbolism[]

The flag was based on the university's coat of arms that were granted on 24 March 1910. The red saltire is called the Saint Patrick's Cross, which is a historic flag of Ireland, the book on the flag represents the university itself, the sea horse represents the city of Belfast, the Red Hand represents Ulster, the historic province of Ireland that the university is located in, the harp symbolises Ireland and the crown represents the British monarchy.
