The flag of Seward, Alaska, is horizontally divided between blue and green by a broad white chevron and charged with a yellow star at the upper-fly.
Symbolism[]
The flag represents steep mountains in summer and winter plumage. The star is a tribute to Benny Benson's Alaska state flag. Benny Benson (1913-1972), the designer of the flag of Alaska, lived from 1925 to 1932 at the Jesse Lee Home orphanage in Seward.[1]
