The flag of Turkey, also known as Türkiye is red with a white star-and-crescent facing towards the fly.
Symbolism[]
The red represents the blood of Turkish martyrs, and the star and crescent represents a bloody war when the Ottoman Empire founded (The blood bleed at that war was plethoric) and when the moon and a star reflected over the blood that night Turks used that symbol as their flag. Also the crescent is related to Islam as well as each points of the star.
Usage in Cyprus[]
According to the Constitution of Cyprus, community authorities and their institutions have the right to hoist the Turkish flag (alongside the Cypriot flag, as well as the Greek flag) during the holidays.
