The green represented the hope and faith of the people of Zaire, the yellow disc represented the natural resources of Zaire, the flaming torch represented the spirit of the nation, and the red of the flames represented the blood of the martyrs of the nation.
President’s flag[]
The president’s flag always had a golden fringe. The background is red with the Zairean coat of arms in the top left corner. On the bottom, there is a tank, a plane, and a warship.
